Acupuncture | Boynton Beach, FL
Acupuncture is a key component of Chinese medicine that involves the insertion of very fine needle into specific points on the body and used in a wide variety of conditions. The origin of acupuncture is debated but archaeology demonstrates mummies with well recognized acupuncture points tattooed on their body dating as far back as 3300 BCE (5300 years before present).
As one portion of Chinese medicine, many feel that acupuncture has its greatest strength when used in the context of Chinese medicine. Therefore, we do not offer whole body acupuncture here at Surfside. Instead we have trusted partners locally that practice full body Chinese medicine and can employ acupuncture it to its greatest effect.
Here at Surfside Non-Surgical Orthopedics we employ a very specific form of acupuncture called auriculopuncture (ear acupuncture) for pain relief. The technique, called Battlefield Acupuncture, was invented by an Air Force Colonel, Dr. Richard Niemtzow.
